A Day in the Life of Villa Ventorum

The award-winning hotel and garden estate, ‘The Newt in Somerset’, have reconstructed a Roman Villa based on the archaeological remains of a villa found within the estate’s grounds near Bruton in Somerset. This book is a narrative based on imaginary characters and events devised for the Villa Ventorum visitor experience.

The story in these pages brings to life the owners and their servants and slaves, imagined in the year 351 CE, in the house they called home, the Villa Ventorum. Written by Jerry Toner and with illustrations by Romy Blümel.
